Doppler Ultrasound
A Doppler test is a simple test used to check blood flow in the body. It helps show if blood is moving well through the blood vessels and if a pulse is present in a hand or leg. This test is useful for finding problems like peripheral artery disease (PAD) or diabetic foot ulcers. It works better than checking the pulse by hand. Doctors also use it after surgeries or injuries to make sure enough blood is reaching the arms or legs. This includes cases like broken bones, which can sometimes reduce blood flow to certain body parts.
Why Doppler Ultrasound Is Performed?
A Doppler ultrasound is done to see how blood moves through the blood vessels. It helps doctors find if there are any blockages or narrowing in arteries or veins. This test is important for diagnosing problems like poor circulation or diseases such as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
